Facial implants are prosthetic devices deposited under the soft tissue of the face to modify the underlying structure to improve the form of specific elements of the chin, cheek, or lower jaw.

Dr Yazdanfar saysDuring the surgery for a chin implant, the surgeon selects the suitable size and shape for the implant to augment the patient’s appearance and deposits it into a cavity over the anterior of the jawbone. The small incision is cut along the bottom lower lip to carve the pocket and the implant is introduced insideinside the mouth or in the soft tissue just beneath the chin.
For a cheek implant surgical procedure an incision will be made either inside the patient’s upper lip or the lower eyelid. A pouch is then formed and the implant is deposited inside.
A lower-jaw implant procedure calls for internal incisions to be cut on both sides of the bottom lip to render entry for making a pocket into which the implant can be tucked.

The severity and duration of swelling and discomfort may vary, especially if another cosmetic surgical procedure was accomplished concurrently.
