Facial implants are prosthetic devices placed under the skin of the face to alter the underlying structure to improve the shape of particular aspects of the chin, cheek, or lower jaw.
Dr Yazdanfar says thatDuring the surgical procedure for a chin implantation, the surgeon identifies the proper shape and size for the implant to improve the patient’s features and tucks it into a pocket over the front of the jawbone. The small incision is cut following the lower lower lip to carve the pouch and the implant is introduced withininside the mouth or in the skin just underneath the chin area.
For a cheek implantation surgery an incision will be made either behind the patient’s upper lip or the lower eyelid. A pocket is then formed and the implant is introduced.
A lower-jaw implantation surgical operation necessitates internal incisions to be cut on either side of the bottom lip to supply access for fashioning a pocket into which the lower-jaw implant can be enclosed.
The severity and duration of discomfort and swelling may vary, especially if another procedure of cosmetic surgery was accomplished at the same time.
