Liposuctionis a procedure of cosmetic surgery
sculpting the layer of fat under the skin.
The procedure uses a tube called a “cannula” inserted through an incision and under the skin using a strong vacuum and a certain amount of fat is suctioned from the area or “aspirated”. Liposuction is no substitute for normal exercise and a healthy diet, cosmetic surgical procedure procedure of cosmetic surgery that has associated risks.
One of the main risks in association with liposuction is related to anesthesia. The procedure can be implemented using either general anaesthesia, or local anaesthesia. With the use of general anaesthesia the patient is completely unconscious, but this is recognised to be the riskier option. General anaesthesia can only be carried out by a licensed anesthesiologist, and recuperation from the procedure is usually longer if it is performed under general anaesthesia. Local anaesthesia is acknowledged to be much safer Dr Behnaz Yazdanfar, and is the preferred practice for liposuction surgery. Local anesthesia is only applied to anesthetize the locality that is being worked on, and does not cause the patient to become unconscious. Recovery from the operation using a local anaesthetic is disposed to be much speedy because the patient does not experience the complications of recuperating from general anaesthesia.
Tumescent liposuction is considered to be one of the more reliable and most successful methods used today. Tumescent liposuction employs a solution comprised of a local anaesthetic and epinephrine delivered under the skin in the area that will be operated on. The local anaesthetic numbs the locality so the patient does not experience pain from the operation, and the epinephrine induces blood vessels and capillaries in the locality to constrict, which also prevents too much blood loss. The constricted blood vessels aid to keep the local anaesthetic in the area of the operation during recovery, so potent narcotic pain relievers are not usually needed.
