The rise in use of over the counter fat burners is cause of overwhelming concern for doctors as rates of drug related deaths continue to grow.

Fat burners are sadly becoming a very oft used supplement among a wide range of age groups and there is also less separation between the sexes. Continued use of products like these is of a continued concern for family members of the people who abuse them as well as government health agency’s. The reason people are concerned is the addition of Ephedrine within the pills. Ephedrine is dangerous because it creates a state of increased hear rate, which can lead to heart problems or can sometimes cause a immediate heart attack.

A few things being done by concerned citizens to do to curb people from keeping their addictions to these pills include plans for a healthy diet along with education about the reasons that these weight loss pills are harmful. The hardest thing these interest groups face in convincing people to stop using these pills would have to be the fact that the fat burners are now being used by a much wider range of the population and it is no longer only young females. The government agency’s will have to focus efforts to stop the consumption of these pills, but they have a long road ahead of them to stop this phenomenon.
